Ecologist – Aboriginal Partnerships

Bush Heritage is a national, not-for-profit organisation that either buys and manages high-conservation value land, or partners with Aboriginal people to support their programs to keep country healthy.

About the role

This rare and diverse role will be responsible for providing expert ecological advice, strategic guidance and ecological support to our Aboriginal Partnerships across the Northern Territory to facilitate and progress Healthy Country Planning and monitoring programs. This pivotal role will provide a critical link between Bush Heritage and its Aboriginal partners, through building strategic networks, and working closely with local governance and science advisory groups.

About you

You will have a passion for working with people and a solid understanding of land management and ecology. You will have established networks and a good reputation amongst Traditional Owner groups. You will have a minimum of 3-5 years’ experience working in Indigenous NRM and demonstrated experience in respecting, listening to and supporting Traditional Owner knowledge and interests for looking after country. It is essential that you can provide a referee from an Aboriginal representative.
