The role

The Victorian team are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Team Leader to lead their skilled and well-resourced group of staff, working on a diverse range of projects. Reporting into the skilled and supportive Manager of Ecology, you will join a collaborative management team that prides themselves on a strong culture that retains staff for long term success.
The Team Leader – Botany, is a project manager and technical expert who leads the Victorian Botany Team. They play an active role in project work through participation in project teams, project management, fieldwork, and client liaison. This role will lead by example with consulting, client management and development, administration and people management functions supporting others to do their role while being an active consultant themselves.
Key responsibilities will include:

• Management of Senior Consultants and development/mentoring of junior staff
• Effective management of productivity and project profitability
• Continuous improvement of efficient and effective delivery of projects

About you

This role is about leading people in planning, decision-making and action, in a way that is consistent with the company’s established policies, procedures, culture and ethos.

You hold a relevant tertiary qualification in ecology, botany, environmental science, or environmental management. You are well versed in botanical legislation for Victoria and have a deep knowledge of the relative Victorian government policy. You can provide clear specialist consulting advice and are able to effectively engage and communicate with the national business to facilitate knowledge sharing. In addition, you have successful experience in team building and cultivating a professional and skilled botany team.
