The ESA is saddened to hear of the passing of Peter Hitchcock. Peter was one of Australia’s most remarkable environmentalists, with national and global contributions to forest conservation, rainforest protection, World Heritage, and national parks.
Since its inception in 1959, the ESA has dedicated itself to promoting ecology, supporting the application of ecological principles to protect and conserve ecosystems, and promoting the exchange of ecological knowledge for education and cultural development.
Native plant species are reclaiming their territory as they bounce back in habitats that we’ve disturbed. This is the heartening finding from University of New South Wales researcher, Ms Susan Everingham.
