Connecting biodiversity risk assessment and natural capital accounting

Opportunity Type:
Student Opportunity
Closing Date:
Sunday, September 8, 2019

This trans-disciplinary PhD project offers the opportunity to bring together different knowledge types and theory to improve the monitoring and management of natural ecosystems. The successful PhD student will develop national and international case studies in collaboration with conservation scientists and economists, both in academia and in practice. The case studies will combine IUCN Red List assessments of risks to species and ecosystems, and quantify how the two relate to natural capital accounting approaches (specifically the United Nations environmental and ecosystem accounting approaches), with the aim of influencing global and national policy approaches and measurement standards.

Applications for this position close Sunday 8th September 2019.
